When is it?
The main festival is on Saturday 2nd March with a Primary Schools' Singing Afternoon for Beaconsfield schools on Friday 1st March 2024.
At what time?
There will be four concerts on the day, at 12, 2.30, 5 and 7.30pm
Where is it?
St Mary's Church, Beaconsfield (see map on Contact us page)
How much does it cost?
We ask for £5 for each member of every choir taking part, to cover the costs of hiring the venue and the other administrative costs. This is payable as soon as possible to secure your place. We are a not for profit organisation, run entirely by volunteers.
Is it a competition?
No, this is a non-competitive festival which celebrates singing together.
How much music do we have to prepare?
Each choir will be asked to prepare a 10 minute programme. The choice of repertoire is yours, but you will need to submit your repertoire list by 1st January 2024.
Who will our audience be?
The other choirs in the concert will be your main supporters, but the festival will also be open to a small number of audience from outside. Bring your supporters along to enjoy the day!
We are a large/small/brand new/well established choir, will we be welcome?
Any choir of any size will be welcome, including those with lots of experience and those that have only just started. Everyone can enjoy and learn from each others performances, all genres are appreciated.
How will the concerts finish?
At the end of the concert, in the spirit of the Sangerstevne tradition, all the choirs will have the opportunity to sing together. Taking part in this is a condition of entry to the festival. The songs to be sung will be sent to you to learn in plenty of time. Many choir members have commented that this part of the festival is one of their favourites.
